Visitor Sailing


Day Sailing:
As a visitor to the Club with your own boat, you are welcome to come for a day sail for a small fee which entitles you to use the Club facilities as a temporary member.
Day member sailing at at the Club costs £40 per day (£20 per half day) and is available five days a week, Wednesday to Sunday inclusive.
Please contact the Club before arriving in order to ensure that Day Sailing is available on the day in question and that your boat is listed on the "Approved Boats to sail" list. You will find the list quite extensive.

Day Boarders:
We also have boarder day memberships available, allowing you to enjoy winging or wind surfing from our clubhouse that has some great facilities.
There is no need to haul your kit too far. Before parking you can drop off your kit onto our dedicated grassed, boarding area. The boarding area is only a few steps from the water.
When you setoff you launch straight into our unrestricted bay that normally has clear wind.
The cost for Day Boarder Membership is £20, half-day costs £17.
Before arriving please contact the club to ensure boarding is available on the day in question.

Day Member Parking:
One of the benefits from becoming a day member is that membership includes free parking.

Want to Improve your Sailing or Boarding:
Our experienced RYA instructors can help you improve your sailing or boarding by providing 1:1 tuition.

The Clubhouse and Galley:
In our warm friendly clubhouse there are changing facilities and hot showers.
Our galley also serves hot food, hot drinks and snacks.
The galley is normally fully open every Bank Holiday, Wednesday, Saturday, Sunday and Bank Holidays.
When hot food is not available we still server hot drinks and snacks.

Weekly Rate:
We also offer Weekly Rates and overnight storage of boats for anyone wishing to sail or board over their holiday period.

Safety Cover and Rules:
Whenever you sail at Carsington Sailing Club there is always safety cover provided.
As a Day Sailor and a Temporary Member, Club Rules must be followed, which include the wearing of buoyancy aids and suitable clothing.
If you are unsure of anything please contact the office who will be more than happy to help.

Safety check list:
Please follow the CHECK - CLEAN - DRY code before sailing at Carsington Sailing Club

* Craft must be in a good seaworthy condition.
* 3rd Party Liability Insurance with a minimum cover of £3m.
* Suitable Sailing Experience for the type of boat.
* For your own safety all Sailors on Carsington Water MUST Wear a Suitable a Buoyancy Aid or Life Jacket at ALL times.
* Sailors must wear either a wetsuit/drysuit or clothing providing a similar level of protection between November 1st and April 30th. It is also recommended that appropriate clothing of a similar nature should be worn from May 1st to October 31st.
