Our Youth Sailing Courses, introduce sailing, in a fun and safe way, while making sure they learn a lot!
The RYA Youth Stage 1, Stage 2, Stage 3 and Stage 4 courses provide a thorough introduction and progression in dinghy sailing, equipping participants with the essential skills and knowledge to sail safely and confidently.
Starting slowly with stage 1 building water confidence and focusing on having fun on the water, Stage 2 introduces key sailing techniques, Stage 3 youth sail completely independently and Stage 4 focuses on double-handers and an introduction to racing. The courses combine both theory and practical components and is widely recognized as the youth standard for sailing a dinghy.
What Equipment Will I Need?
We provide buoyancy aids, wetsuits and logbooks, as well as all the help and encouragement you may require.
You will need plenty of warm clothing and waterproofs, some non-slip footwear which can get wet and sunscreen.
It is a club rule that all sailors must wear either a wetsuit/drysuit or clothing providing a similar level of protection between November 1st and April 30th. It is also recommended that appropriate clothing of a similar nature should be worn from May 1st to October 31st.
