RYA Levels 1 & 2 - Learn To Sail Dinghy and Learn to Sail Keelboat

No previous experience is required
We offer two main pathways of tuition, structured RYA courses and less formal private and bespoke tuition.
RYA Dinghy Sailing Course
Our RYA Adult Training courses combine the RYA Level 1 (Start Sailing) and RYA Level 2 (Basic Skills) courses and run over four days. This is usually delivered over the course of two weekends.
Level 1 (Start Sailing - Dinghy) - This course provides an initial introduction to sailing, covering all the basics and key information. By the end of the course, participants will have a basic understanding of boat handling techniques and background knowledge, able to sail the boat around a triangle.
Level 2 (Basic Skills- Dinghy) - On completion of this course, the successful sailor will be safety conscious, have a basic knowledge of sailing and be capable of sailing without an instructor on board in reasonable winds. You will learn how to use basic boat controls to complete basic manoeuvres including picking up a man overboard and coming alongside another boat or pontoon.
Key seamanship skills will be developed throughout the courses. This will include basic ropework and sailing theory.
Course Duration: 16 Hours for Level 1 & 16 Hours for Level 2
Ratio: Up to 3 students per instructor
Minimum age: 14
Prices - £400 for both the Level 1 and 2 qualification (£200 per course). This includes 2 full weekends of tuition as well as your certificates and handbook. £360 for members.

RYA Keelboat Sailing Course
We also offer a limited number of places on our RYA Level 1 & 2 Keelboat Sailing Courses. The ratio is just 2 learners to 1 instructor over 4 days.

RYA Level 1 or 2 courses may be arranged at times to suit you as long as there are three or more participants.
