Windsurfing is a super exhilarating and exciting sport, for those who don't mind falling in! We offer windsurf tasters once a month, to give you a small feel of the sport which will lead on to our RYA Start Windsurf course. Over two days this course will give you the confidence to go out on the water windsurfing safely and effectively and have a lot of fun.
Winging is a new and accessible sport which combines aspects of windsurfing the technology of foiling. It is easy to understand the fundamentals and super fun to get to grips with the foundations of this sport. Progress on to the foil to give you the unique feeling of gliding over the water at speed.
Wingsurfing is currently the fastest growing water sport!
Carsington SC is delighted to be one of the first sailing clubs in the country fully accredited by the RYA to provide tuition in this new and exciting sport! We are undoubtedly one of the top venues in the Midlands with plenty of space for all abilities and we are within easy driving distance of Manchester, Derby, Nottingham, Stoke and Sheffield.
Take up learning this challenging skill or work towards a using a foiling board. Wingsurfing courses only take 3 hours to complete so it's easy to fit one around a busy schedule.
For most people, the ambition is to get up on a foil board. Our Wingsurfing courses provide the perfect foundation for this and our expert instructors will support and guide you throughout your journey.

Windsurfing is one of the most exhilarating sports at Carsington!
2025 is the year of windsurfing at Carsington Sailing Club! We have a lot of Windsurfing taster sessions planned here. These sessions are designed to give you a short ntroduction to windsurfing, where one of our enthusiastic instructors will help you fall in love with the sport! If windsurfing is for you we have a 2 day RYA Start Windsurfing Course, which will give you all the skills and take you through the steps to get you out on the water confidently.
After you complete our Start Windsurf course, you receive a 6 weeks free Board Hire Voucher. This voucher entitles you to hire any of our beginner windsurfing equipment any time of the week (when the water is open, see our opening times here) Please note: this voucher is only valid once you join as a CSC member.
