Who is it for?
This training is only for members who have already completed a PB2 course, but would like a refresher or confidence boost before signing up for duties.
The training will take place over three hours and has no cost for members.

What's included in the refresher?
The training is run by a club powerboat instructor and will cover the following aspects:
Preparation of the boat
Correct Safety Equipment
Sponson Inflation
Keys and Kill Chords
Kill Chord and Tell Tail checks
Assisting with launching and recovery
On land safety with trailers and winches
Hitching and unhitching
Assisting with launching
Assisting with recovery
Boat controls and basic boat handling
Wheel and throttle control - slow speed
Using N+F to control slow speeds
Coming alongside the pontoon
Standard into the wind method
Float on downwind method (if suitable)
Securing with an OXO
Picking up a man overboard
Standard upwind method.
Alternative methods for getting someone into the boat
Calling for assistance.
The roles of the safety driver and the safety crew
The importance of having two people on safety duty, facing fore and aft.
Basic introduction for club VHF use.
