Attractions around Carsington

Being on the edge of the Peak District National Park, Carsington Water is ideally situated near to numerous camping and caravan sites as well as other types of accommodation and activities.

We are very close to a wealth of attractions ranging from Chatsworth House, Alton Towers to Dovedale.
A quick Google on the National Trust in the Peak District will find something for everyone.

The area is ideal for both walking and cycling, as it is situated close to the Tissington, High Peak and Monsal trails.

A late summer and autumn visitor should not miss the Matlock Bath illuminations, which go back to Victorian times. When visiting Matlock Bath, you cannot fail to see the large limestone rock of High Tor, which often has rock climbers on it. Should you wish to see the view there is also the option to walk up on narrow walkway, or else cheat and take the car to the top !

Carsington Water itself has a visitor centre with shops and cycle hire, and is surrounded by a picturesque 8 1/2 mile walk / cycle path on surfaced pathways.
